Child Pirate Costume – Ahoy Matey!

Toddler Pirate CostumeIt is such fun to have a children’s fancy dress party whether it be for a birthday or some other celebration such as Halloween. All parents know how their children enjoy dressing up and a child pirate costume is a popular choice. In fact, by choosing a pirate theme for a kid’s party will make life much easier than you think. Having one theme to think about will make organization much easier.

The fact that you do not have to consider a plethora of party themes to satisfy your revelers will ensure your soiree is enjoyed by all. As an added bonus this single theme event idea is perfect should you have two or more children of your own, rather than having to make a different theme outfits for each child you only have one, this will be much less of a headache.

Whatever theme you choose for your fancy dress party it will be hard work so enlisting some help will help lift the load somewhat and if you choose a pirate theme you will have many things to choose from to keep your swashbucklers entertained and, let’s face it, once a child pirate costume is donned a mini buccaneer is born.

Staying with the pirate theme, there are many things you could do to make your child’s birthday party or Halloween celebration a great success. You could, for example, organize a treasure hunt. By using your computer you could produce treasure maps, try to make them look old and treasure map like, roll them up and tie them with a ribbon, then give one to each child ready for the hunt itself.

Pirate Maiden Child CostumeIt may be that the child pirate costume you have chosen for your offspring has a pirate sword already, if not then they can be purchased quite cheaply and along with your treasure map will make their costumes look more authentic. However, children and pointy things, even plastic pointy things, can be a source of over excitement that, if unsupervised, will eventually lead to some minor injuries. You will need to be vigilant as you will not want any of your guests returning to their parents with fewer limbs than they came with.

A party like this is ideal in the summer when a lot of energy can be released in the garden. You could bury some “treasure” in parts of the garden, preferably not amongst your prize winning flower beds, as part of the treasure hunt with clues to their whereabouts on your previously produced treasure map. The children or should I say buccaneers will enjoy digging in the sand pit, for example, for any buried goodies even if they do not have a clue what they are digging for.

A child pirate costume and a pirate theme for your fancy dress party or Halloween occasion is all you need for a great afternoon of fun for all with very little expense and minimal logistical headaches.
